Choosing the right cover for the location
Most Abu Dhabi specifications call for covers rated to EN 124. Pedestrian areas, lobbies and landscaping normally use A15 or B125 covers, while roads, car parks, service yards and loading bays need D400 or higher – usually ductile iron. Recessed covers are filled with the surrounding tile, stone or paving so they disappear into the floor. Our manhole covers page lists all six load classes with typical uses.
