An above-ground grease trap is installed inside the kitchen – under the sink or next to the equipment – instead of in a buried chamber outside. It slows the waste water so fats, oils and grease (FOG) float and food solids settle, letting cleaner water flow to the drain. Sizing a grease trap
Grease traps are sized by flow rate – how much water the connected fixtures can discharge. List the sinks, dishwashers and other equipment that will connect, with their sizes, and we will recommend the right capacity. Larger kitchens may need an interceptor or an underground grease trap instead.

It depends on the kitchen. Busy kitchens may need weekly cleaning; smaller ones less often. The basket should be emptied daily.
Can one grease trap serve several sinks?
Yes, if it is sized for the combined flow of all connected fixtures.
Is an above-ground grease trap allowed in Dubai?
Requirements depend on the authority and the building. We provide datasheets so your consultant or MEP engineer can confirm the right type.
