A floor trap collects water from a floor and holds a water seal that stops sewer smells coming back into the room. How to choose a floor trap
- Number of inlets – count the fixtures that will discharge into the trap.
- Outlet size – usually 75 mm, 100 mm or 110 mm, to match the drain pipe.
- Height – check the floor build-up available below the finished floor.
- Grating – choose round or square, PVC or stainless steel, plain or tile-insert.
- Seal depth – a deeper water seal is better for floors that dry out.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a floor trap and a floor drain?
A floor drain is the grating and body that collects water; a floor trap includes the water seal that blocks sewer gases. Many floor drains connect to a separate floor trap.
Why does my bathroom smell of drains?
The trap seal may have dried out or be too shallow. Running water regularly or fitting a trap with a deeper seal usually solves it.
Do you supply stainless steel gratings for PVC traps?
Yes. We supply SS gratings in round and square shapes to fit PVC traps.
Can you deliver to sites outside Dubai?
