Designing steel planters

Drainage: every planter needs drain holes or a planter drain, a drainage layer and filter fabric.
Heat: steel heats up in the UAE sun. Line the inside of planters for sensitive plants, or choose lighter colours.
Corten staining: the rust patina can run onto light paving at first. Seal the paving, or keep a gravel strip around the planter.
Weight on podiums: check the planter positions with the structural engineer.
