Ablution areas take more water than almost any other floor in a building. Every prayer time, many people wash at the same moment, and the water has to leave the floor quickly so the tiles stay safe to walk on. Alphatek supplies stainless steel drainage for mosques, prayer rooms and ablution areas in malls, offices, schools, hospitals and airports across Dubai, the UAE and the GCC.

Layout tips for ablution areas
- Run the channel along the full length of the seating line, just in front of the feet.
- Fall the floor towards the channel, so no water is left standing.
- Pick a channel outlet size that matches the number of taps on the bench.
- Use removable grates, so cleaners can lift them and wash the channel.
- Add a trap or gully on each outlet to stop smells coming back.
